Nature Therapy

There is continued research and evidence around how nature can help calm our systems and aid in rest. It is also one of the best teachers to cultivate presence, which when caught in the business of everyday life, can be hard to master. Schedules, to-do lists, your mind pinging from one thought to the next, it's easy to not really notice what's right in front of you and live in the mind, rather than your body.

Creating more presence in life can help reduce anxiety and worry. Focusing on what's around you with all your senses, can bring you out of the mind and into the body. Being in nature, walking slowly along a trail, is such a perfect place to practice presence. Taking in what you see, feel, smell, hear. Was that an owl in the trees? Did a drop of rain just fall from a leaf? Look at the sun through the trees over there. ​​

There is truly so much beauty in nature if we can slow down enough to witness it all. Below are photos I have captured during slow walks in the woods and other areas I have been blessed to visit and share space in.
